Playback and navigation

Use the transport, playhead, loop, zoom, metronome, count-in, and workspace navigation.

The transport controls the shared playback position for the arrangement and its focused editing views.

Play, stop, and seek

  • Start or pause playback from the transport or with Space.
  • Click the timeline to move the playhead or set the playback start position.
  • Enable follow behavior when you want the visible arrangement to move with playback.

Sympose may move or start the transport when you ask it to audition a region, but it cannot infer your artistic judgment from playback alone.

Loop a region

Set loop start and end points on the timeline, then enable looping. Playback repeats the selected range until you disable the loop or stop.

Looping is useful when editing a transition, shaping a device, recording automation, or comparing a change in context.

Metronome and count-in

The metronome provides a timing reference. Count-in belongs to recording: when enabled, Sympose plays the configured lead-in before capture begins. Ordinary playback does not need to wait through the recording count-in.

Project timing

Tempo, time signature, key, and scale apply at project level. Changing the meter may require Sympose to migrate existing musical timing; review any warning before confirming a broad project change.

Zoom and move through the workspace

Use the timeline and scroll controls to change the visible time range. Clip view also supports vertical note zoom and horizontal navigation. Panel visibility and sizes can be changed without altering project content.

The release command palette and full binding list are documented in Keyboard shortcuts.
