Effects and mixing
Build an effects chain, balance tracks, use sends, and automate supported parameters.
The Device chain runs from left to right. MIDI passes through its instrument before effects; audio begins at the first effect.
Build an effects chain
Add an effect, choose a preset when available, and adjust its primary controls. You can:
- Enable or bypass an effect
- Reorder effects
- Remove an effect
- Apply a compatible factory or user preset
- Automate supported parameters
Order matters because each effect receives the output of the device before it.
Balance tracks
Use track volume and pan to place sounds in the mix. Mute isolates a problem by removing a track; Solo focuses playback on selected material. The master output controls the final project level and protects the output through the supported master processing path.
Sends and shared processing
Supported effects can route through shared return buses. A send controls how much signal reaches the shared effect while preserving the main track path. Use sends for treatments such as common space or delay across several tracks.
Automate the mix
Open an automation lane for an eligible mixer or effect parameter. Manual and agent-authored automation use the same target definitions, ranges, and timeline.
Ask Sympose to mix
Describe the outcome and scope:
Make the drums feel more cohesive, keep the kick impact, and reduce the harshness on the overhead-style layer.
Sympose can inspect the current chain and make structured, reversible changes. Audition the result at a matched listening level when possible; the agent does not infer subjective success from transport playback alone.
Finish with Create and record automation or export the project.
